Daily Fantasy Sports… Whos Hot, Whos Not!

Daily Fantasy Basketball involves a lot of research each and everyday, Our line-ups are crucial for the bets and money we look to make.  It is always important to know who is hot, who is not, and who is getting it done on a weekly basis.  Fantasy sports can be a hard game to get a hold of, especially when it is heads up, but I am here to help.  I will give advice on salary cap bargains, who is really on their game, and hopefully help you get fantasy lineups that increase your cash-flow.  Its all about the draft and match-ups for that day, and if we do the research it can become an income, rather than a gamble.  Take a look…

Lets start with Whos Hot…

Jamal Crawford (ATL, G): Last 4 Games- 20 pts, 4 rbs, and 3.5 asts… He always has his streaks, but hes a gamble.

Marcus Thornton (NOR, G): Last 7 Games- 25 pts, 4.3 rbs, and 2.6 3pts… He’ll take a backseat when Paul comes back, but for now hes a salary cap bargain with great production.

Dirk Nowitzki (DAL, F): Last 7 Games- 30 pts, 8.7 rbs, 3 asts, just under 1 steal and a little over 1 block a game as well… Dirk is really in the zone right now and seems confident with his improved team.

Whos Not…

Rudy Gay (MEM, F): Last 3 Games- 15 pts, 5.7 rbs, 2 asts, and a ton of steals, but the turnovers have been cancelling the two out… Look for him to rebound against New Jersey.

Emeka Okafor (NOR, C): Last 3 Games- 10.7 pts, 4.3 rbs, and a little over a block a game… He throws in a big rebound game here and there, but he is always a risk to have in your fantasy lineup, regardless of the opponent.

Joe Johnson (ATL, G): Last 4 Games- 15.5 pts, 4.3 rbs, 5 asts, and less than 1 3ptm a game… Good numbers for your average fantasy player, but uncharacteristic for Johnson.  He was held under 20 points in 3 straight, but i look for him to have a big game against the Knicks.  He torches them everytime, get him in your fantasy lineup today!

T-mac injured, Again

Here we go again.  Tracy McGrady is back, or atleast we thought.  According to McGrady he banged knees a couple times and considered himself questionable, “I may lace them up and play tomorrow, but we’ll see.” Not exactly what you like to hear from a player coming off a serious knee surgery.  He may not be a bad option if he plays Tuesday, but is obviously a huge risk.  He’s facing a stingy Boston defense which is usually a bad thing, but may actually increase his value as the Knicks will need someone who can create their own shot, something McGrady has always been able to do.  Everyone, including myself, flirts with that fine-line of McGradys temptation/reality. But until he proves that he can still produce, dont expect much.  Consider him a good option in salary cap leagues (outstanding price bargain) and someone you want to stay away from at draft tables.  Hopefully McGrady will be on the court tomorrow but we all know his reputation. Make sure you check his status before game time as he is questionable for now.

March Madnezz

The stretch run is in full swing for the NBA and teams eying the playoffs aren’t holding anything back @ this point.  Every game has gotten that much bigger and this is the time of year where the stud’s put on a show and team’s playing for the lottery actually throw guys in the mix who could be late season fantasy fillers.  Let’s take a look @ some make or breakers.

Al Jefferson – Well AJ is showing the maturity of a falling star who didn’t attend college.  Al showed a very bright future his early years, but a trade to the woeful Timberwolves and a knee injury later…  Jefferson now is showing the character of a guy who didn’t get a college experience.  This is supposed to be your franchise guy?  Hopefully he can comeback strong like Melo did, but this season has been a huge disappointment and he is not worth considering as a nightly Center pick.  Going to Minnesota didn’t help the cause of the young franchise player.

Deron Williams -   Deron was alwayz money in fantasy with his field goal percentage.  Hovering around 50% shooting.  A pain in D-Wills shooting wrist is probable one of the worst possible injuries for the sharp shooter and it is showing.  Williams has deeped to 42% and says that he would like to take a month off, but is he gonna do it?  No, he’s gonna play through it.  Draft wisely, I look for D-Will to show some inconsistent nights.

Carmelo Anthony – Melo is dealing with some nagging injuries that are effecting his efficiency as well.  An ankle that isn’t healed and a banged up shooting elbow.  Melo is starting to become injury prone.  Actually I’m hoping this column wakes Melo-maniac up and he breaks out of his slump.  As that was the case with some past articles calling out Amar’e and Ray Allen.

Jameer Nelson – Don’t look now, but Mighty Mouse is starting to show signs of last years All-Star vote getter.  Nelson was very efficient last game with 22 points 10 assist and only 1 t.o.  Jameer was also quoted “I think I’m back right now”.  The Cavz already thought they had a bad week when they got the news on Shaq-Fu.  Now that Nelson is on the come-up, the Magic look to be even more dangerous.

Omri Casspi – Purple Jesus seems to be in a huge slump and he looks fatigued as the season goes on.  It doesn’t help that Garcia and the newly required Carl Landry are pushing for minutes.  Casspi is huge in his homeland and very popular in the Jewish community.  While playing in NYC he was cheered for louder then the Knicks were.  All this being said, Omri may be even more spent off the court due to his high demand of publicity.  This has to be a crazy  rookie season for him and hopefully he’ll be more prepared for next year.  He is not worth playing right now and until he show’s his 2nd wind, he may be worth nothing for the rest of the season.

Ronny Turiaf – Turiaf has been MIA all year long, but seems to be healthy now and Biedrins is hurt again.  Turiaf is the guy here and he should be on the court often.  He is getting transition buckets and is a nice source of rebounds, but his forte is blocks.  He could be a nice under the radar kind of guy 2 plug in for cheap.

CJ Watson/Anthony Morrow – Like I mentioned last week, look for Monta to sit out allot during the final stretch of this season.  Nelly ball will be giving these  young studs even more run and they both can fill up the stat cheats.  Gotta love the Warriors in fantasy.  If only they could keep guys healthy.

Daily Fantasy Sports… Whos Hot, Whos Not!

Since we our based on a daily fantasy line-up, it is important to stay on track with who is hot, and who is not… Below i have displayed some guys that are playing today that will  hopefully make your table decisions a little easier.  Take a look…

Lets start with Whos Hot:

Ray Allen (G, BOS): Last 7 Games- 21 pts, 4 rbs, 3.3 asts, and of course 2.5 threes… Jesus Shuttlesworth is gettin hot

Jermaine O’neal (C, MIA): Last 10 Games- 16.6 pts, 8.7 rbs, and 2 blks

Jeff Green (F, OKC): Last 6 Games- 17pts, 8 rbs, and 2 stls

Whos Not:

Troy Murphy (F, IND): Last 3 Games- 15 pts, 4.3 rbs, and not much else… a couple threes, but those low rebound numbers are uncharacteristic with how he crashes the boards.

Michael Beasley (F, MIA): Last 4 Games- 9.25 pts, 5 rbs, 2 asts, and a little over 1 steal… Who would have thought his numbers would go down with no Wade.

Omri Casspi (F, SAC): Last 4 Games- 5.75 pts, 4 rbs, and 1 stl.

Charlie Villanueva (F, DET): Last 6 Games- 6.7 pts, 4.8 rbs, and not much else… Dumars strikes again!

GONE FISHING!!!

That is the phrase that Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley use when someone gets put out of the playoffs. With about 28 games left in the season for some players and teams have already gone fishing!! Lets face it some teams and players have no motivation to finish the season strong, Baron Davis is one. They already have their vacations plan out in april. After the all star break and trade deadline you have to start changing your thinking when playing fantasy basketball for money. Guys who are playing for nothing and are fantasy studs like Danny Granger you have to ask the question will his minutes start to slim down? Teams that have nothing to play for are going to start looking at young talent and some players that have nothing to play for will just be collecting paychecks until april. Make sure you are not starting players in your nba salary cap leagues who have gone fishing for rest of regular season!

Lets start with… Whos HOT:

Russell Westbrook: Last 10 games- 20 pts, 6.6 rbs, 9.3 asts, and 2.2 stls… This guy is literally getting better every night, get him in your line-up!

Marcus Thornton: In the last two games he has scored 37 and 25, it took him a couple games to get back in the swing of things but he is rolling again and at a cheap price. Keep an eye on him to see if the success continues.

Tayshaun Prince: Last 3 games- 18 pts, 7.7 rbs, 3 asts, and 1 steal/block… Not through the roof stats but he seems to be getting back to the numbers he posted a couple years ago.

Whos Not…

Kenyon Martin: Last 3 games-7.6 pts, 8.6 rbs, and 1 steal/block a game…not horrible stats, but not enough from a guy at his price.

Al Harrington: Last 3 games- 10.7 pts, 4.7 rbs, and not much of anything else… McGrady could mean less minutes for Al.

Kevin Martin: Last 5 games- 13.4 pts, 3.4 rbs, 2.6 asts, and 1 steal… still getting integrated into that Houston offense.

Daily Fantasy Sports… Whos Hot/ Whos Not!

Since we our based on a daily fantasy line-up, it is important to stay on track with who is hot, and who is not… Below i have displayed some guys that are playing today that will  hopefully make your table decisions a little easier.  Take a look…

Lets start with… Whos HOT:

Danny Granger (IND, Forward): Last 8 games- 24.6 pts,  6.9 rbs, 3 asts, 1.9 stls, and just over 1 block a game… STUD!

Andrew Bogut (MIL, Center): He gets a good stat line every night, but lately he has really been standing out…

Last 4 games- 20 pts, 14.5 rbs, and the outstanding 4.25 blocks

C.J Watson (GSW, Guard): Last 5 games- 23.4 pts, 3.4 rbs, 4.2 asts, and 2.2 stls… great price bargain that will only get better if his minutes stay up

Whos NOT:

Brandon Jennings (MIL, Guard): Last 6 games- 10.3 pts, 4 rbs, 4.2 asts and his TOs negate his steals… way too expensive for salary cap leagues and going down hill in general.

Antawn Jamison (CLE, Forward): Last 3 games- 13 pts, 7 rbs, and not much else… As expected, not getting as many looks with the Cavs. He will have his nights, but is overrated in salary cap leagues.

Mo Williams (CLE, Guard): Last 4 games- 7.5 pts, 2 rbs, and 3.75 asts… Let him get into the swing of things before you consider him for your roster.

Daily Fantasy Bargains: Who’s hot/ Who’s not… Todays picks!

Since we our based on a daily fantasy line-up it is important to stay on track with who is hot, and who is not… Not only that, but the daily match-ups adjust and increase/decrease values of the players we depend on.  So lets look at some fantasy match-ups and hopefully increase the cash in our accounts…

Lets start with who is  HOT:

Richard Hamilton: Rip is definitely hot and on a scoring tear! He’s averaging 30.5 points in his last 4 games, a consistent 30!  (30, 27,29,36) and look for him to continue it.  Tonight  Hamilton will take on a weak and un-motivated Clipper team that loves to give up points and is one of the worst defenses in the league when it comes to giving up assists.  Something he takes advantage of and could definitely put together an 8 assist night.  Couple that with around 20+ points and you’re in business.  For his price, Richard Hamilton is someone to consider.

Andray Blatche: This guy has been a beast with his increase in minutes and it looks like he’s staying put.  In recent years he was starting to look like wasted talent, but has really emerged and taken the next step and this opportunity serious.  Since the departure of starters Butler and Jamison(and we all know about Arenas), he is averaging 25 points, 10 boards, and a little over a block/steal a game(his assists and TOs negate eachother in draftzone scoring). He’s turning into a viable option and a must have in salary cap leagues with his price bargain.  He has a tough match-up today as the Grizzlies are beasts on the boards, but being one of Washingtons only options at the moment, He still stands out at his price tag.  This guy is someone to keep an eye on for the remainder of the season.

Jason Richardson: He has kind of disappeared the last couple seasons but he’s hot recently.  In his last 5 games he is averaging a little over 19 points, 8 rebounds, and we all know how he can light it up from beyond the arc.  Hes had a little more bounce in his step and may have been re-juvinated after a much needed all-star break.  Today they are facing a very spotty Sixers team that will fall victim to Phoenix’s run game and should get Richardson a good amount of shots.  He is a bit of a risk, but his recent number dont lie.

Manu Ginobili: He’s starting to look like the guy we are used to seeing.  He has been over 20 points in 5 of his last 8 games and looks like he could be back to achieving 5 assists and rebounds a game.  He has always been a lock for a couple steals and threes a game so when you add up the stats of this versital guard it leads to a total we could all use.  Someone to watch in the upcoming weeks.

Kevin Durant: Obvious option, but 29 consecutive game of 25+? UNREAL!  Consistent lock every night

Who is NOT:

Elton Brand: Overrated in our salary cap leagues, there are a large group of players i would much rather have in my lineup than Brand’s highly inconsistent play.  He has failed to score over 13 points in 6 of his last 8 games and double digit rebounds are very rare from this once double-double machine. Even with him going up against the Suns today, he is hard to trust.  I wouldn’t suggest taking such a risky pick with your money.

Baron Davis: It seems like the same ole story from Baron.  Love the guy and he has as much talent as anyone, but i feel its obvious to see that Baron has no motivation.  His numbers have decreased significantly and as the Clippers fall in the standings, so will Barons interest.  Very overrated in salary cap leagues right now and not even an option for small or mid-size draft tables. Stay away from the UCLA star as he is starting to lose his spark.

Al Jefferson: Usually known as a lock for a double-double on a nightly basis, but recently his minutes have declined and his numbers are suffering.  Rebounds are way down as well as the points sitting in the mid-teens as of late.  Until he is back to 35+ minutes a night, stay away from this expensive salary cap center.
